My name is Dan.

I am a guitar player, teacher and lover of music. I have toured the UK & Europe with my own bands, playing some of the worlds most raucous and renowned venues.

Since giving up touring and becoming a father I have focused all my efforts on teaching the guitar.

My hope is that as your teacher, I will not only teach you to play some of your favourite songs and help you to develop technically as a guitar player, but also to instil in you the love and passion that I have for guitar and music as well.

My journey with the guitar began as a young boy in the 90s, hearing the heavy rock, grunge and alternative bands of the day: I was instantly hooked and begged my parents to buy me my first guitar, which thankfully they did. My love for the guitar has become a lifelong passion - and a job - leading me to teaching and sharing this passion with others.

I believe wholeheartedly in the value of children learning to play a musical instrument: I believe absolutely that music can be a place where we find our better selves, where we learn the discipline of practice and mastery of an instrument, where we learn to use our imaginations and creative selves to write and rearrange and compose, and where we can learn to express ourselves through music. Learning guitar with me is not just about the mastery of the fretboard or chords: it will also be about musicality, listening to music and responding to it with our hearts not just our ears, and about the musicianship that surrounds playing the guitar.

Learning the guitar with me could very well be the start of your lifelong journey in music!
